About Us

Rober and Jane ChapmanIn 1985, Centre Director Jane Chapman had a dream in which she saw us living in a house with lots of mums and small children. The house was a home and safe place for vulnerable teenage mums - providing care, support and perhaps most of all, hope.

The van Gogh quotation (below right) encapsulates the Living Springs story, starting with a dream and then carefully, painstakingly, ‘painting in’ the details by developing services to meet the needs of so many vulnerable families.

But the ‘us’ is broader: trustees, staff and volunteers have worked tirelessly with us to bring the dream into reality. They bring their dedication, understanding and care to all that the charity is involved in. Our heartfelt thanks are extended to all of them.

Many developments at Living Springs have only been possible as a result of grants and donations from individuals, trusts and other organisations, for which we are grateful.

Looking to the future, as more of the dream is painted, our focus is on completing the supported housing accommodation; working with volunteers on the development of a Community Farm; and offering input into schools through the Pregnancy Support Centre in Stourbridge. Find out more about these projects here.

The poem, ‘God’s Dream’ was given to us some years ago. It expresses much that we would want to say about our life, our friends and colleagues … and about Living Springs.

We look forward to sharing even more of the painting with many of you in the future.
